Privacy policy
The short version: the editor runs on your device, we have no accounts, and your skin is never uploaded. Here is the detail.
Your skin never leaves your browser
The editor is entirely client-side. Every pixel you paint, the 3D preview, and the PNG export are all created in your browser tab. We have no server that receives your artwork, so we could not see, store or share your skin even if we wanted to. When you press Download, the file goes to your device and nowhere else. One optional feature makes a request: Load by player name sends the player name you type to mc-heads.net, a public skin service, to fetch that player's public skin. It runs only when you press Load, and it never sends your artwork.
No accounts, no ad networks
There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no names, emails or passwords from using the editor. We do not run third-party advertising networks or their trackers. To see which guides and pages get used, we do run Google Analytics 4 — the next section covers exactly what it records.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
PixelPelt uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. It measures which pages are read: pages viewed, the site that referred you, approximate location at city or country level, device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, so the data is not used for advertising and is never sold. The editor itself still runs entirely in your browser, as described above.
GA4 sets two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, which last up to two years. They are set only after analytics is allowed.
If you're in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you'll see a banner first, and nothing is sent to Google unless you click Accept. Everywhere else, analytics is on by default and you can switch it off at any time. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat you as opted out. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.
You can change your analytics choice at any time. Google's privacy policy explains how Google handles this data, and Google offers an add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
The newsletter and email
If you enter an email to hear about new guides, we use it only to send those updates, and you can unsubscribe at any time. If you email us, we keep that message so we can reply. We never sell or rent any address.
Affiliate links
A few outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination site sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy — that is outside our control. We explain which links and why in our affiliate disclosure.
